TUCG stands in solidarity with NUJ members at Reach
The Trades Union Co-ordinating Group has sent a message of support to journalists preparing for strike action.
"The Trade Union Co-ordinating Group stands in solidarity with NUJ members at Reach plc striking in their fight for a decent pay rise.
"The TUCG commends the significant turnout achieved by journalists in the ballot who are now making a stand against historic low increases and this year's pay offer. Journalists play a critical role in the newspaper industry and are at the core of its success.
"A company that pays a £4m pay package to its chief executive while refusing a fair increase to staff amid soaring energy prices and a cost of living crisis, must challenge their understanding of what it means to value employees.
"The TUCG calls on Reach to meaningfully engage with the union, proposing a revised final offer that increases pay and is one that NUJ members can accept. Journalists deserve fair reward for their work."
