NUJ message for #WorldBookDay
The NUJ is the union for staff and freelances working in publishing and campaigns for a diverse and inclusive workforce: why not ask a colleague to join today?
Fiona Swarbrick, NUJ national organiser, said:
"The NUJ wishes everyone in the publishing world a happy UNESCO World Book Day. It is worth remembering that behind every wonderful book is an editorial team including writers, editors, illustrators, editorial assistants, proofreaders and editorial IT workers.
"The NUJ is the union for staff and freelances working in publishing and campaigns for a diverse and inclusive workforce. It negotiates pay, flexible working and having a safe and pleasant work environment. Being a member is a great way to meet colleagues and join in campaigns to support the industry and protect copyright.
"If you are NUJ member, why don't you make a World Book Day pledge to ask a colleague to join the union today. It's very easy, they can join online."
