A stellar cast of some of the most prominent figures in Irish journalism featured at a presentation ceremony in Dublin last night when the NUJ presented life membership certificates to journalists with more than 40 years membership of the union.

The union will always stand firm for the right of bona-fide newsgatherers to do their jobs without fear of threats to their well-being.

The UK Press card is authorised by industry gatekeepers including the NUJ and issued through the UK Press Card Authority.

NOTE: the exemption was rescinded owing to increasing infection levels - the union is lobbying for it to be restored.

As England starts a month-long lockdown from Thursday 5 November, the NUJ is reminding photographers and videographers of their rights when working.
