PA chapel statement on 2025 pay deal
NUJ members at PA Media have secured an above-inflation pay deal, demonstrating "the power of union activism and collective bargaining."
The NUJ PA chapel said in a statement:
"The PA chapel is pleased to announce its second successful pay negotiations since achieving recognition for the purposes of collective bargaining with management.
"Building on a positive deal in 2024, the chapel voted in favour of a 4.1% base salary uplift for employees within the bargaining unit.
"The PA management honoured its two-year commitment to improve minimum salaries, bringing them up to £30,000 and £33,000 for London weighting.
"In addition, the management agreed to enhance Long Service Leave for part-time staff.
"Earlier this year, the chapel was deeply affected by a period of restructure at PA. Thankfully we avoided compulsory redundancies, although many valued colleagues left voluntarily and their absence is keenly felt.
"Coming so soon after this turbulent time, we are immensely pleased that our pay negotiations were constructive and positive on both sides.
"And we are delighted to have secured an above-CPI inflation pay deal for our members and demonstrated, once again, the power of union activism and worth of collective bargaining."
