For Dom, Bruno & the Amazon

  • 02 Nov 2022

Month long exhibition across Lancaster honours NUJ member Dom Phillips, and indigenous expert Bruno Pereira killed in the Amazon.

A programme of events including lunchtime talks and film screenings will take place across Lancaster over coming weeks. The exhibition organised by academics, journalists, activists and campaigning organisations will honour Dom, Bruno and others who have lost their lives through campaigning efforts.

All events are free and created to help inform visitors about Dom and Bruno’s work on how the rainforest is being destroyed, and how people who live there are under attack. A two day free conference on 19 and 20 November will showcase the work of organisations investigating the situation in the Amazon and just solutions to the environmental crisis.

A masterclass for young and emerging film makers and investigative journalists will take place at Halton Mill in March 2023. A half day event for interested applicants is planned during 22-24 November. Find out more on how to apply.

Donations to an appeal created by Dom and Bruno’s families can be made.

Access details of each event on the exhibition website.
