Newsquest acquires Archant
The NUJ reacts to newspaper publisher Newsquest, buying Archant in a new deal.
The National Union of Journalists is aware of the recent acquisition of Archant, by publisher Newsquest.
Recognising the uncertainty some NUJ members may be experiencing at this time, this week, the NUJ will be writing to Henry Faure Walker, Newsquest chief executive, to request a meeting seeking clarity on the new deal and raising member concerns.
The union has not yet been contacted by Newsquest about any impact on member terms and conditions or employment. Members will be kept updated on discussions as they progress.
Now is an important time to join the union. The NUJ represents staff and freelances working across a range of sectors including newspapers and publishers, strengthening the voice of members on important issues including pay.
