The NUJ Disabled Members' Council is hosting an informal online meeting on 24 November (from 5.30 - 6.30pm) which will explore ongoing issues within the government’s Access to Work scheme, the impact on journalists, and the campaign for reform.

NUJ motions on reasonable adjustments and protecting Access to Work were passed at this year’s TUC Disabled Workers’ Conference.

During Deaf Awareness Week [2 -8 May] the NUJ Disabled Members’ Council encourages all branches and chapels to ensure that they are as accessible as possible for members who are deaf or have hearing loss. 

NUJ delegates joined trade union colleagues to set the agenda to secure decent working opportunities for disabled workers.

Disabled workers have found themselves on the pandemic’s brutal frontline, Frances O’Grady, TUC general secretary, told the Disabled Workers’ Conference.
