Disability Rights UK was formed in January 2012 through the merger of Disability Alliance, National Centre for Independent Living (NCIL) and the Royal Association for Disability Rights (Radar). George Viner Memorial Fund Trust
The fund was set up by the NUJ to address the lack of Black and Asian journalists in the UK media. It supports British Black and Asian students through the training they need to gain employment in the media. The fund helps provide course fees, books or travel payments.
