NUJ members express solidarity with people of Ukraine
Members at RTÉ in Dublin meet to show solidarity, as the union calls on government to provide assistance to journalists.
On 4 March 2022, NUJ members at RTÉ gathered in Dublin to express solidarity with the people of Ukraine and to highlight the plight of media workers under attack from Russia.
Séamus Dooley, assistant general secretary, condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine and urged NUJ members to support the IFJ-EFJ Ukraine Safety Fund for journalists.
The NUJ has asked the Department of Foreign Affairs to provide practical assistance to Ukraine journalists through the IFJ.
