NUJ organising & recruitment training, 24 November 2021

This course is for reps who want to develop membership engagement and activity in their branch or chapel. It is an opportunity to share ideas and good practice with other reps and to explore how to recruit and encourage the participation of members in chapel and branch work.

This workshop is aimed at new or established Chapel reps, that want some ideas about how to develop their Chapel and involve more members in Chapel activities. Knowing how to build the strength of Chapels, by engaging and involving members, is the focus for this “organising remote/hybrid workers” workshop. As a result of the changes that have taken place in the way NUJ members work, It is necessary to re-think how Chapels can develop new channels of communication to develop and maintain member engagement and activity.

The learning outcomes for the workshop are;

Know what is meant by organising

Identify some of the challenges of organising remote/hybrid workers

Explore strategies for organising remote/hybrid members

The workshop will be a mixture of discussion, group work and some tutor presentation.
