In June 2022, journalist Dom Phillips and indigenous expert Bruno Pereira were murdered in the Amazon while undertaking research for Dom's book, How to Save the Amazon.
Join us in-person on 19 January at 6pm to hear from exhibition organiser Fiona Frank and Domonique Davies, one of the creators of the For Dom, Bruno & the Amazon exhibition. Speakers also include Dr Jamille Pinheiro Dias, lecturer in environmental humanities at the School of Advanced Study (University of London) and Jim Boumelha, chair of the NUJ's policy committee.
The event will be chaired by Michelle Stanistreet, NUJ general secretary.
This discussion takes place as part of an exhibition the NUJ is hosting from 18-20 January at Headland House, 72 Acton Street, WC1X 9NB. Visit to learn more about Dom and Bruno's work, the impact of climate change and illegal mining on the Amazon, and find out about defenders of the region killed for their action.
Please note, registration is for the evening discussion and only ticket holders will be allowed entry. Spaces are limited.
