The Journalist August September 2023

  • 31 Jul 2023

The latest edition looks at the class ceiling in journalism and how working-class journalists can find it hard to break it into the industry. There is also a feature on AI, and a surprise guest writer.

We’re proud to say that The Journalist was named Best Union Journal for 2023 at the recent TUC communications awards with the judges praising the range of interesting stories, their relevance, writing, editing and design.

In this edition we look at the class ceiling in journalism and how working-class journalists can find it hard to break into the industry. We also have features on dealing with AI in the workplace; the way housing issues are reported; why local knowledge was key in reporting the Nottingham murders; and what it’s like to work in Norwich.

We also have our regular columns; a surprise guest writer; news and your views.

I hope you will enjoy this edition.
