Health and Safety in the workplace (a collective approach to Mental Health) with Tracy Walsh.

The session will cover what an employers duties are in relation to looking after workers mental health. This will include what support individuals can get and the importance of developing a collective approach to dealing with mental health issues. Useful tools and resources will be explored as part of the session.

Tracy is an educator, researcher and Trade Union activist, who has worked for many years with the Trades Union Congress (TUC) and affiliated trade unions, and with international Trade Unions, such as Pergam in Slovenia, OPPZ in Poland, and the International Transport Federation (ITF). She is currently studying part-time for a PhD at Greenwich University, which explores the relationship between gender, race and class in British Trade Unions.

Tracy is an active member of the University and Colleges Union (UCU). She has recently co-authored a chapter on the RED Learning Coop, with Fenella Porter, in ‘Reclaiming the university for the public good: experiments and futures in co-operative higher education’ (Eds Ross and Noble). Tracy is currently a Trustee for the Young Women’s Music Project (YWMP)
