Online Media Awards celebrate best in online news and journalism

The Guardian was named Website of the Year at the Online Media Awards and the Chairman's Award went to Mail Online. Carla Buzasi editor-in-chief of The Huffington Post UK won Online Editor of the Year.

The Online Media Awards recognise the best in online news and journalism and its winners were announced at a ceremony held at the Emirates Stadium in London.

The Sunday Times, The Times and The BBC all won two awards. Red Online won best designed site, The Arts Desk won Best Specialist Site for Journalism and Belfast Telegraph won the new category Best Local/Regional News Site. The Guardian won a total of five awards,

The NUJ is a sponsor of the awards together with the Press Association, Society of Editors, Holdthefrontpage.co.uk and IE School of Communication.
