NUJ calls for staff and freelances to be paid
16 October 2012
The NUJ has called on Darryn Lyons to pay out what is owed to staff and to freelance photographers who licensed their work through Big Pictures.
The Big Pictures photo agency was put into administration after running into financial difficulties but the new company set up is still connected to Darryn Lyons.
Wages have not been paid to Big Pictures staff or freelances. Photographs have not been returned to the people who own them.
Michelle Stanistreet, NUJ general secretary, said:
"Staff and freelances should get paid for the work they have done. Photographs should be returned to their owners. The recent announcements about the company seem like a cynical move to deny people their financial entitlements. The NUJ is calling on Darryn Lyons to pay what is owed."
