March with the NUJ on the TUC's Britain Needs a Pay Rise demo
14 October 2014
This autumn, the TUC is organising a demonstration in London, making the case that Britain needs a pay rise.
The demonstration will take place on Saturday 18 October 2014, and will begin with a march through central London, culminating in a rally in Hyde Park.
People are currently facing the biggest squeeze on their incomes since Victorian times, and wages have fallen in real terms every year since 2010. We believe that as growth returns to the UK economy, everyone should get a fairer share in the recovery.
You can join the NUJ on the march, meeting at 11am at zone 7 on Victoria Embankment.

Route on the day:
The march starts on Embankment, with form up from 11am. We suggest joining from the rear at Blackfriars to avoid a crush further up Embankment. After moving off, the march will go along Embankment to Northumberland Avenue, across Trafalgar Square, along Regent Street to Piccadilly Circus, and then along Piccadilly to Hyde Park Corner, where it will enter the park. The rally in Hyde Park will start as the march reaches the stage. There will be a short march route for those who don't want to follow the whole route.
