Jewish Chronicle NUJ chapel statement
NUJ members are devastated to learn the newspapers would be put into liquidation.
Following the announcement of the Jewish Chronicle and Jewish News closure, staff redundancies and a potential merger of the newspaper titles, the NUJ Jewish Chronicle chapel have made the following statement:
The Jewish Chronicle NUJ chapel said:
"We were devastated to learn on the eve of Passover that the Jewish Chronicle would be put into liquidation.
"This was made worse when we saw a war of words over the paper's future and our livelihoods break out in another newspaper.
"We seek urgent clarification — before 3pm today — from both the Kessler Foundation and the Consortium as to the details of their bids for the future of the paper."
