Drum Online Media Awards 2017
26 February 2017
The Drum Online Media Awards, supported by the NUJ, identify the best, boldest and most original producers of news and views from around the world.
From politics to sport, finance to film, the aim is to find the best talent and technology online.
Breaking news story of the year in 2016 went to Buzzfeed News and the BBC for The Tennis Racket investigation, which revealed evidence of widespread match fixing at the top level of the game and previous winners include Quartz which won the Chairman's and Best App awards for their app that delivered news in an entirely new way—as a conversation in text-message form.
But it isn't just the big hitters that pick up prizes, local newspapers websites and individuals have also been rewarded.
The judges on the panel include Jon Snow, anchor, Channel 4 News, Stephen Hull, editor-in-chief, The Huffington Post UK and Anna Watkins, partner, Mofilm to name but a few.
All entries should be received by Friday 24 February and nominations will be announced on Friday 21 April. The award ceremony will be held on Thursday 1 June, at the Marriott Grosvenor Square Hotel, London. Details of how to enter can be found on the awards website.
