TUC national Cost of Living Demonstration

On Saturday 18 June, the trade union movement will be taking to the streets to demand action on the cost of living - a new deal for working people – and a pay rise for all workers.

Families across the country are bearing the brunt of the cost-of-living storm. Every worker – public and private sector – needs a real pay rise in 2022. The government needs to act now. Let's come together on 18 June to speak out.

We'll be marching with thousands of people from all over the UK, followed by rally in Parliament Square. Ann Galpin, NUJ Disabled Members' Council  chair, will be speaking on the day.

Instructions for the march.

The front of the march will assemble outside the BBC, on Portland Place (near the junction with Langham Place), and the march will form up behind them, going north towards Park Crescent.

To avoid congestion when the march moves off, members marching should form up on the left hand (facing towards the front of the march) side of Portland Place.

It will be easier to join the march from the rear. Please look for the NUJ's allocated section "Q". Stewards will be available to help you find the section.

There will be music playing during the form-up before the march sets off. The march will head south towards Langham Place and Regents Street at 12 midday.

Can you help on the day?
The TUC needs volunteers to act as stewards on the day. Stewards will need to be in London for 8.30am on the morning of the March and Rally. If you would like to volunteer, please complete the form and we will be in touch.
