This is a two-day course designed to train people in how to write, edit and mark up copy for different types of websites, such as news sites, PR sites, corporate sites etc.
Students will produce dummy copy for classroom use, and will also be publishing copy on a website via a content management system.
They will compare print and online publications, plus they will look at recent developments in web technology, such as RSS, blogs, citizen journalism, etc.
Students will be encouraged to produce their own blog.
Students will consider the impact of layout and visual material but the course will NOT cover how to design and create websites
Who should attend?
The course is for anyone writing/editing for, or planning to write/edit for a website; or who wants to add to their skills portfolio.
