To mark World Press Freedom Day, the NUJ is holding an event to examine media ownership and the people who own our national press.

Chair: Michelle Stanistreet, NUJ general secretary

Tom Bower is the author of a new biography of Richard Desmond, owner of Express papers, celebrity magazines and "adult" TV channels. He was banned from entering the Express's building to speak to the NUJ chapel. His other books include the unauthorised biographies of media moguls Robert Maxwell, Tiny Rowland and Richard Branson.
