The new edition of this important book explores the social, political and economic impact of the Miners' Strike and highlights the Tory attacks on the miners and other trade unions and the precarious world of low-paid, zero-hours work which hundreds of thousands of workers are subject to today.

 Speakers:

  • Tony Garnett – film and television producer (Kes and The Price of Coal) and writer.
  • Granville Williams – writer, Editor of Shafted: The Media, the Miners' Strike and the Aftermath and editor of MediaNorth.
  • Dave Toomer – journalist, trade unionist and lecturer and vice chair of the Manchester & Salford NUJ branch.

 Organised by Manchester & Salford NUJ, Manchester Trades Union Council and Campaign for Press and Broadcasting Freedom (North)
