Screening: The Electric Cinema, 47-49 Station Street, Birmingham B5 4DY. Discussion: Cherry Reds, 88-90 John Bright Street, Birmingham B1 1BN

Rich Peppiatt resigned from his post as a Daily Star reporter, disgusted at the excesses of unethical and commercialised journalism he was expected to write under the constant threat of being replaced by people who were willing to toe the management line.
He then turned the tables on tabloid editors, door-stepping them to ask hilarious but pointed questions about the material and standards their papers were increasingly scrambling to cover in a race to the bottom -  and filming them while doing so.
The result is One Rogue Reporter, a 90-minute film chronicling Rich Peppiatt's interviews with taboid editors. Touching on press freedom, privacy and the ethics of the press, and with supporting material from the likes of Nick Davies, Owen Jones and comedian John Bishop, this highly acclaimed comedy film is one every journalist or anyone with an interest in the UK media should see.
Free tickets: The NUJ has 10 FREE tickets to give away for the screening at the Electric Cinema, Tuesday 9 December, 6.30-8.00pm, for NUJ members. Phone/Txt Alan Taman on 07870 757 309 or mail . First come first served. Just ask!
Discounted tickets: Once the free tickets are gone, NUJ members can still get tickets directly from the cinema for a 25% discount (£7.35 instead of the usual £9.80). E-mail and leave contact details. The cinema will contact members to take payment at the reduced price.
After-screening drink & discussion: Rich Peppiatt will be at the screening. There is also an after-screen discussion with Rich at Cherry Reds, John Bright Street, a short walk from the cinema, immediately after the screening, 8-9pm approx.

Anyone who attends the screening will be given a voucher for a free drink at Cherry Reds. This is a unique chance to ask the writer questions, and join in the discussion afterwards. Organised by Birmingham & Coventry NUJ Branch: all welcome.
