NUJ, Headland House, 72 Acton Street, London WC1X 9NB
This four-stage programme of courses is for branch and chapel reps, either freelance or employed, with members who work in diverse ways. It is relevant for all reps, whether you are new to your role or have more experience. The courses are updated regularly to look at new working practices and laws. They are customised to meet the needs of all NUJ reps and members, regardless of what work you do or how you do it.
This is aimed at reps who have done stages 1 & 2. The course brings together the skills and knowledge developed so far. It also develops the skills needed for campaigning and engaging members in branch and chapel work.
- Learning how to apply policies and procedures when dealing with members’ concerns.
- Knowing how to prepare a case when you know nothing about the issue or how to deal with it.
- Practising, through role-play, a formal disciplinary meeting.
- Developing an organising plan with reference to equality and health and safety.
This event is for NUJ members only. Please consider joining the NUJ if you would like to attend this event.
