The NUJ's programme of free reps' courses is aimed at branch and chapel reps, freelance or staff, who have members who work in diverse ways. You may be a new or more experienced rep. It does not matter which; this programme is relevant for you. The courses are updated regularly to look at new working practices and laws and are customised to meet the needs of all NUJ reps and members, regardless of what work you do or how you do it.
This course is aimed at all NUJ reps. Whether you are a health and safety rep or not, the course will help you understand the importance of the H&S rep’s role within a chapel or branch, and what they can do, ask for and be involved in - all underpinned by some specific regulations.
• Understand the role and responsibilities of an NUJ Health and safety rep.
• Develop an awareness of what legal rights and facilities are afforded to NUJ H&S reps.
• How to use H&S regulations to help develop ways of challenging H&S issues.
• Identify ways that H&S can be used to develop chapel and branch organisation.
This event is for NUJ members only. Please consider joining the NUJ if you would like to attend this event.
