This course is aimed at all NUJ reps who want to ensure that equality is promoted within their branches and chapels. The aim of the course is to provide reps with a practical understanding of how to raise awareness of equality, and how to support and represent members who may face discrimination or harassment.
- Understand the role and responsibilities of an NUJ equality rep.
- Become more familiar with Equality Act 2010.
- To know what is meant by “good equality practice”.
- Identify ways that equality can be embedded into chapel and branch organising.
This will include a session from Natasha Morris, the NUJ's legal & equality officer, on how to put an equal pay claim together. This course can be done by any rep; you don't have to or want to be an equality rep.
This event is for NUJ members only. Please consider joining the NUJ if you would like to attend this event.
