The NUJ ethic code’s first obligation is "a journalist at all times upholds and defends the principle of media freedom, the right of freedom of expression and the right of the public to be informed".

NUJ members, Trevor Birney and Barry McCaffrey, upheld this principle and were arrested as a consequence.

The film No Stone Unturned investigates the Loughinisland massacre and a year after the film was first shown Trevor and Barry were arrested and they remain on bail.

The evening will show the film followed by a Q+A with Trevor and Barry accompanied by the investigative journalist Ian Cobain.

This case is the biggest specific threat to press freedom in UK at the moment and everyone who cares about investigative journalism, human rights and civil liberties should watch the film and support this campaign.

This event is free to attend, but places must be booked in advance via the event page on City's website:
