Committee Room 11, Houses of Parliament, London

The National Union of Journalists, the Bar Council and Law Society have organised a joint event in parliament about the Investigatory Powers Bill on Monday 11 April starting at 17.00 in committee room 11.

The meeting intends to highlight specific concerns relating to the safety and confidentiality of sources, whistleblowers and individuals seeking legal representation.

Our organisations have come together as part of the ‘Speak in Safety Campaign’ and ask for parliamentary support for a range of amendments to the Investigatory Powers Bill so the legislation can adequately protect the anonymity of sources and whistleblowers and guarantee that clients can speak with their legal representatives in confidence.
