Get working efficiently and effectively with InDesign, the new industry standard DTP software.
This one-day course will enable you to make up pages from scratch, importing and formatting text and headlines and placing and manipulating illustrations.
Learn how to use text wrap, create photographic cut-outs, work in the story editor and apply special effects such as drop shadows and transparency. Navigate your way around the palettes and dock them to your own preference to save your individual workspace. You will also create your own keyboard short-cuts and set up a personal library.
Rob Searle got involved in desktop publishing in 1987, winning work on his own computer system at a time when most magazines and newspapers still used pencil and paper design. In a long career as a freelance designer and regional newspaper sub, he has created publications ranging from leaflets to broadsheets, gaining experience at top London agencies and learning from high-end print companies. Over the years, he has trained dozens of people to use desktop publishing packages.
