One of the two investigative journalists arrested and questioned in a widely condemned action by Northern Ireland police will take part in a Q and A session following the branch's screening of No Stone Unturned next Wednesday, October 31st.
No Stone Unturned is an award winning film which takes an in depth look at the Loughinisland massacre 24 years ago when six Irishmen were murdered while watching a World Cup match at a pub. The film examines claims of state collusion in the murders - believed to have been carried out by Loyalist paramilitaries - and names those it says are suspects.
NUJ member Barry McCaffrey, one of the two journalists arrested in relation to some of the material used in the film, will be at the screening next week and the Q and A will be chaired by Professor Chris Frost, chair of the NUJ's Ethics Council. The arrests in August were a blatant attack on press freedom and condemned all over the world.
FREE ADMISSION. OPEN TO EVERYONE - NOT JUST NUJ MEMBERS
