The School Strike for Climate and Extinction Rebellion actions have brought the climate crisis to the head of the news agenda.
There is growing recognition that we need to take urgent action to avert catostrophic climate change and create a sustainable economy, to protect the planet and secure equitable access to the world’s resources.
The media plays a vital role in communicating the science of climate change, as well as holding politicians and corporate interests to account.
How can journalists better inform the public about the science behind climate change?
What should we do as trade unionists to tackle this crisis?
This month’s speaker, Brendan Montague, branch member and editor of The Ecologist, will be discussing the evolving environmental movements and how the crisis is being reported – and how trade unionists can engage with these campaigns.
