During Black History Month, the National Union of Journalists (NUJ) hosts a free event celebrating the life and work of trailblazer Claudia Jones. A heroine of modern times - a journalist, activist and campaigner - perhaps best known as one of the founding members of The Notting Hill Carnival and the first black newspaper, The West Indian Gazette and Afro-Asian Caribbean News, this remarkable black woman made a significant contribution to society.

The NUJ would like to invite you to join us in remembering her life and the continuing struggle for equality today.

Fatima Manji, Claudia Jones
