Reps’ training 2020

Putting together a pay claim, dealing with a bullying manager, creating an active chapel, negotiating a robust house agreement and boosting freelance rates are among the skills of a successful rep. They are the bedrock of the union and the NUJ offers full support and free training to help them in their role, recruit more members to lighten the load and provide a collective voice for staff, casuals and freelances working in media, publishing and PR and communications.  NUJ training page.

Recruitment materials

The union has a range of posters to put up in your office and use in chapel/branch campaigns on pay, equal pay, ethical journalism, press freedom, journalists’ rights, having a collective voice and the union’s role in networking and connecting members. They can be downloaded as posters and jpgs and are also in Welsh.

Have a look at our new range of coasters which are great to give a presence of the union in the office – as well as somewhere to put your hot drink.

Go to the NUJ website for the full range of materials. Contact campaigns@nuj.org.uk if you need help or copies.

If your chapel/branch is doing interesting work or running impressive recruitment campaigns let us know so we can share good practice or feature your campaign or recruitment work in NUJ Informed. If you need materials or help with a campaign strategy, email campaigns@nuj.org.uk
