3rd European Conference of Science Journalists: the Association of British Science Writers and European Union of Science Journalists Associations look forward to welcoming science journalists to Manchester to meet colleagues old and new and discover common themes and issues, Saturday 23 July.

Michelle Stanistreet, NUJ general secretary, joins speakers including Guardian columnist Owen Jones, former global HR director at MacMillan Science and Education Tania Hummel and director of international and research for UNITE the Union Simon Dubbins to review pay and conditions in the UK publishing industry. Tolpuddle seminar: the Trade Union Co-ordinating Group's annual seminar, chaired by RMT's general secretary Mick Cash, will discuss the implications of the Trade Union Act with speakers including Caroline Lucas MP, John Hendy QC and TUCG member unions on Tuesday 12 July, 18.30, Wilson Room, Portcullis House. : book now for the annual event, a vibrant mix of political debate, speeches, music, poetry, comedy, stalls and lots of entertainment for children, to  commemorate the contribution of the Tolpuddle Martyrs, 15 to 17 July.

 


Journalists on PRs: PRs on Journalists

PRWeek and Press Gazette have launched a survey to find out what journalists think of PR professional and vice versa. The information will be used for features in both titles. Please take 10 minutes or so to complete the survey. Names of those taking part will be put in a prize draw to win a pair of tickets to either Press Gazette’s British Journalism Awards or the PRWeek Awards later this year.
