Creating without Conflict: book your free seat at the launch of a major survey of bullying in the media & entertainments industries and take part in a conference which aims to look how unions can play a part in tackling the problem. London, Tuesday 19 November.

A new start? Supporting trade unions & press freedom in Iran: NUJ public meeting at the House of Commons, Tuesday 22 October 2013

Sun, sand, sea and Scotland: Scotland's role in empire, slavery and the Caribbean: will take place in Glasgow on Thursday 10 October

Pitch & Deal Show: You'd like more money for the work you're doing, what do you say to raise the topic? You've got worries over rate cuts, copyright grabs, rip-offs of all kinds, what happens if you share those concerns? Answers to all these questions and more at the London Freelance Branch meeting, Monday 14 October.

Inside Stories: Nick Davies of the Guardian will talk about the phone-hacking saga, Wikileaks, Flat Earth News, the NSA leaks, reporting techniques etc. At NUJ Brighton & Sussex branch, Monday 21 October

Fast train to Scotland: BBC Academy and Creative Skilset offers free practical training, masterclasses and careers advice to freelances working in television, radio and online. Glasgow, Thursday 24 October.

Internet and the law : one-day conference in London, 26 October, with the NUJ new media industrial council and the Media Reform Coalition.

Claudia Jones lecture 2013: Keynote speaker Dr Nicola Rollock's topic will be Race and racism in a post-racial age. London, Monday 28 October.

Stop the gagging bill: The government's lobbying bill is a disaster. It will not clean up the lobbying industry and will prevent charities and trade unions from campaigning at election time.

Support the release of Kieron Bryan: a British video journalist, imprisoned in Russia after accepting a job to film for Greenpeace on board the Arctic Sunrise.

The new website: If you don't have a log in for the new website then go here and follow the directions. Once you are logged in, if you have not already changed your password (that was allocated to you by the NUJ) then please change it to maximise your security on the site.
