NUJ support

Do you need support?

The NUJ supports its members when they are in trouble. Your first port of call should be your local NUJ reps and your chapel - if there is one in your workplace. You should also get in touch with your local branch.

If this is not possible and your issue is urgent, you can also contact an NUJ official.

The NUJ can also provide legal assistance to members, subject to NUJ policy.

If you find yourself in financial dificulty, the union charity NUJ extra might be able to help.

If you are a Black or minority ethnic student, the George Viner memorial fund may be able to help fund journalism training for you.

Do you want to support the union's work?

Support NUJ campaigns: the NUJ runs a range of campaigns related to the media and social justice that you can help support and promote. The campaigns section of the website includes information and ideas about how you can get involved.

Donate to the union's charities: the NUJ administers two charities – NUJ extra and the George Viner memorial fund – anyone can donate money to both charities.

Members should log in to the website before making a donation to avoid filling in forms.

Recruit: the main thing every member of the NUJ can do is recruit more members. There are a range of materials and resources available to members and reps that can help you to recuit new members.

Donating to union disputes
