Monday 11 January 2010 - London Freelance NUJ branch annual general meeting
All freelance NUJ members who live or work in London are welcome. Free sandwiches. 7pm, Friends Meeting House, 173 Euston Road, NW1 2BJ. Branch website.

Saturday 16 January - 'New Ways To Make Journalism Pay' conference in London
Sponsors London Freelance NUJ branch. Speakers include: Jeremy Dear, NUJ General Secretary; Guido Fawkes, Blogger; Dominic Ponsford, Press Gazette Editor; Granville Williams, expert on media ownership; and Ian Reeves on community funding. £10 NUJ members, £7 NUJ student members, claimants, retired, £15 non-members. Lunch included. 10am - 4.30pm, NUJ HQ, 308 Grays Inn Road, London, WC1X 8DP.

Training - professional and trade union
The NUJ runs professional training courses across the UK. See London dates and Scottish dates.
There are also courses for our workplace and branch reps.

NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COUNCIL
Implementation of policy between annual conferences is the responsibility of the National Executive Council (NEC).
NEC members are NUJ members who are nominated by branches and elected by individual member ballot every year and comprise.
- geographical representatives
- industrial sector representatives
- additional representatives from self-organised groups
