The NUJ represents more than 6000 journalists working throughout the broadcasting industry, from reporters, to producers, editors and online journalists. Many members work for major public service broadcasters like the BBC, ITV, ITN and Channel 4.

Strong union membership helps the NUJ achieve real improvements in these workplaces.

The union's membership is also growing among the many independent TV and radio companies and among satellite and cable providers.

The NUJ is campaigning to defend local news in ITV, one of the essential characteristics of the service.
