And the winner is...results of union elections

Results of elections to the NUJ’s national executive council and other bodies have been announced.

Elected to the NEC by ballot are:
Meic Birtwistle/Neil Taylor (job share) – representing members who live in Wales.
John Coghlan/Stephen Brookes (job share) – representing disabled members.
Kyran Connolly – book workers.
Tom Davies, Phil Sutcliffe, Pierre Vicary, Barry White – members living in London.
Anita Halpin – PR and Information workers.
Ray King – newspaper and agency workers.
Lucy Lynch/Barbara Goulden (job share) – midlands of England.
Nick Serpell – broadcasting workers.
Dave Toomer – north west England.

Elected to the NEC unopposed are:
Jeff Apter/Philip Hunt (job share) – members living in continental Europe.
Jim Boumelha, Philip Hendry, Andrew Smith – south east England.
John Brophy/Bernadette Ni Fhlartha (job share), Barry McCall – Republic of Ireland.
Adam Christie – north east England.
Tim Dawson – freelance workers.
Donnacha Delong – new media workers.
James Doherty, Peter Murray – Scotland.
Tim Lezard – south west England.
Eamonn McCann/Robert Miller (job share) – Northern Ireland.
Rotimi Sankore – black members.

Other contested elections:
Ethics Council Scotland seats – Ann Coltart and Hugh Kerr elected.
Freelance Industrial Council continental Europe seat – John Chapman elected.
Freelance Industrial Council south west England seat – Simon Chapman elected.
Newspapers and Agencies Industrial Council Yorkshire and north east seat – Richard Edwards elected.

The election for the Broadcasting Industrial Council BBC Local Radio seat is to be re-run.
